I fished the end of Cabo Matapalo on April 30. There are a lot of rocks but I found a nice cut at the end. We caught several small species of fish, including a small grouper.
It is a beautiful view, with some surfers on the other end of the beach at times. However, there are really too many rocks to have any chance of bringing in a big one. Backwash Bay was better, but still rocky on places. Stick with Playa Pan Dulce for fishing.
