Welcome to Alaska, to Ketchikan, to fishing at it’s finest. Known as the salmon capital of the world, Ketchikan really is a world class fishing destination. From the powerful King Salmon to the acrobatic Coho Salmon, Ketchikan has it all. Pink and Chum salmon also roam our waters in great numbers. Fishing for salmon in Ketchikan is typically done by trolling (dragging baits behind the boat). Mooching, float fishing, jigging, and casting can be done as well. Salmon are strong fighting fish, and can be extremely aggressive, producing multiple hookups at the same time. Salmon are fished with bait and an array of different lures. Check out this video of a king being taken in Ketchikan with Capt. Ryan McRobert.
