Chincoteague Fishing Report through 05/06/2013

It's been a tough week of fishing here on the island.  It seems like the winds never want to stop despite the winds we still had a few nice fish come in.  These are the days where you wont find your fair weather fisherman,  the die hards have been out there throwning sputniks and havy lead out on the beach.  In the back bay boaters have been seeking refuge in hte Assateague Channel using drift socks and trolling bettering their chances of hooking up.  We have seen a run of bigger bluefish some up to 30'' fro the surf and some making their way into the bay.  Last year this was prime time for the beach it seems like everything is running a little later due to the weather conditions water temperature etc.  we have in fresh seaclams and live minnows along with the largest selection of frozen baits and gulp around.  Good Luck Fishing!

Chris Martin with 3 keepers 05/06/13 the weather has been tough bug Chris still did well fishing the Assateague Channel.  We are getting geared up for the flounder tournament stop on in sign up get stocked up.  Rumor has it Jerry and Sandy will be down catching crabs and maybe a flounder or two...

What a weekend! Here's Gerry, Sam, Tom, John & TJ from Maryland, die-hard fishermen that were cold but wouldn't give up and it paid off. NE 10 to 20
was more like 10+20, didn't think we had much of a chance but found some not to dirty water and did ok. fishing with Capt. Mike aboard the Chincoteague View on 05/04 and 05/05.

Keith Pickett, Ashley Ford, and Randy Will made a successful few trips out of the weekend in spite of the wind with these 9 keepers 05/05, and 15 total keepers over the weekend best rigs for them were the East Coast Flounder Rigs in mylar in chartruce, white, and orange!  They braved the weather and came out with some of the better catches of the weekend Keith's flounder was just over 22 inches.

It was a great Orthodox Easter celebration and Tom & Anastasia's nameday this past Sunday.
