Wow what a day.....

I was a little skeptical about how fishable today would turn out.  Winds were forecasted 15 to 20 due South.  It turned out to be an outstanding fishing day.  The first boat to report in was one Billfish short of a Billfish Grandslam.  They had a Sailfish release and a White Marlin release. Everyone caught good numbers of Gaffer size Dolphin. Quite a few Yellowfin Tuna were caught too.  One offshore boat bottom fished for Tile Fish and caught their limit.  A Blue Marlin estimated at 500 lbs was also released today along with two other Sailfish releases. It's really good to see such good catches today despite it being a little choppy offshore today.  Tonight winds are forecasted to increase slightly so we will see how things pan out. Looks like its going to be a beautiful holiday weekend based on the forecast.  I truly hope it holds true, because we've got so many boats scheduled to fish this weekend.  I've got a few boats still available and some Make up charters for small groups trying to get paired up.  Visit us on our website www.fishpiratescove.com or call us at 1-800-537-4728 to book a charter.

Inshore one boat fished this morning and did really well on Blues and some Spanish Mackerel.  The water temps have started to elevate inshore and the fishing has started to really pick up as a result.  There have been scattered reports of Cobia showing up just south of here. The spring migration of Cobia is one of the highlights of the year for the inshore fleet here. The World record Cobia was caught on an inshore charter out of Pirates cove just a few years back.  It shouldn't be too long before they start showing up in our reports!

A reminder to all those wishing to protect the life of their Outboards.  We offer Ethanol free Gasoline here at the Marina.  We open at 5 am now so stop by our fuel dock anytime after 5am to fuel up before fishing.
