On Friday I had the opportunity to fish with Captain Alex Craig on the Tempest. It was a beautiful day, with a high in the high 50's. I had heard of several Bluefin being caught earlier during the week. A few days before, I had word that they were being caught within sight of the Diamond Tower.  I was a little surprised that we went well pass the tower north, almost to The Point. Also, the predictions were fair, with the bite falling off after 11 AM, and this is exactly what happened. We caught a mahi on blue/white Islander popper about 10:45. Had one more knock down a few minutes later, then that was it. We marked an area that looked promising on sonar, but after several loops with nothing, we gave up and trolled back toward the tower without another bite. From what we heard, we may have caught the only fish in the fleet yesterday. I still have not seen any other reports to the contrary. A slow day, but a nice on on the water.
