August is wrapping up and it has been a good one. The offshore bite has been hit or miss, but the Wahoo have started moving into the area. On one of the trips we caught a nice 46 pound Wahoo and a 23 pound one after gutted. A few Blackfin Tuna and Dolphin (Mahi) are also being caught. Some boats have done well on Sailfish and a few Blue Marlin have been caught. Occasionally a White Marlin has been released as well.
On bottom, lots of Black Sea Bass, Grey Triggerfish, Beeliners, and Snowy Grouper have been caught. Amberjack have made up for some of the slow days.
Off the beach, the Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish bite has been good. There have also been lots of False Albacore caught. There have also been lots of King Mackerel caught around the Bad Bottoms area.
In the sound, the Flounder bite has picked up, with most being stuck by the giggers. Lots of Red Drum and Speckled Trout are still being caught.
As the water temps cool down, the fishing should continue to get better.
