I have been very busy running trips, carting my 12yr old to travel baseball games, and enjoying our newborn son, so I fell behind on my reports.
July 14th - I ran 3 charters with the a mixed bag. First, I had the Art Diebel party on a 3hr blowfish run. The bites were a little tough, but they managed close to 30 for the table. Next, I had new client Steve Yuknis and his father Gerald on a quick 3hr bay charter. We worked a couple areas to have the duo catch close to 30 Fluke putting 3 in the cooler. The late afternoon trip had return client Marc Creatore, his wife Erin, son Brady, and daughter Abby on a 4hr bay/inlet charter. With the tide, we worked the inlet area to catch 3 nice triggerfish and a lone keeper Sea Bass before heading to the fluke grounds. We worked a new area and the crew boxed 8 keepers with the biggest being Erin's 9-pound doormat (29.5 inches). The fish was caught in 3.5 feet of water!!!!
July 15th - We had some more challenging conditions and the Minn Kota had an extreme work out with the wind against tide conditions!! A++ for the trolling motor!! I had return client Jeff Reigle, son Greyson, and family friends Mike Eby and son Aiden on a 4hr bay charter. We worked quite a few areas to put a decent catch together with the crew releasing over 50 Fluke while keeping 8 for the table. Nothing crazy in terms of size today (biggest 23 to 18.25 inches). Great job in very tough conditions!
July 16th - Early trips today as I had return client Matt Bailey, his son Jay, and friend Damian Szlachta on a 4hr bay charter. Originally we were booked for an ocean, but with the winds we stayed in the bay on the skiff. We started going for Striped Bass in a few areas and found a couple small ones, but nothing of size. With about 2.5 hours left, the guys jigged hard to put 7 keeper fluke in the boat. Nice job for the crew!
Next, I had new client Rob Ness, his wife Helen, and sons David (10) and Robert (13) on a 3hr bay charter as this was the family's 1st ever fluke charter. Conditions were not great with wind against tide and warm water, but they managed close to 25 fish with 3 solid keepers. The boys also hooked a nice size blowfish and kingfish which made it to the table for the boys to try. Great job!
Note: Facemasks are required on all charters, but they may be temporarily removed for pictures. #MinnKotaNation #BassProShops #Costa #Yeti#PureFishing #Tsunami #Makoboats #Pennreels #GLoomis #Parkerboats#SSbucktails #OnTheWater #SJJigCo #RackandFin #DSLBI
