Yesterday I ran double bay fluke trips and had Jack Thompson, his wife Nicole and 13yr old son John on a 4hr charter. The crew (other than Jack) was entirely new to fluke fishing and learned bucktailing pretty quickly. They released close to 40 fish keeping 5 keepers.
The afternoon trip was much tougher as the water temperatures ranged from 80 to 83F which makes keeper catching very tough. I had Roger Lougee, his wife Ellen, son Steve, and granddaughter Isla. With the conditions, the crew was able to only box 1 keeper amongst about 25 shorts. Steve did catch a short striped bass in 80+ degree water. Crazy!!
