Happy Day Today Fishing Fort Lauderdale Happy Day Today
Fishing Fort Lauderdale on Happy Day Today with Capt. Zsak   Barbara and Ted Wells from Long Island chartered the Happy Day Today along with the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea charter fishing in Fort Lauderdale FL.  With Sailfish on Barbara’s mind and hoping to get lucky, fifteen minutes after leaving the dock two kites were flying at the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale in 120 ft. of water.  We put two live Goggle Eyes from each kite and one live Goggle Eye from the rigger.  Our first fish was a 9 lb. Mahi Mahi from the right short and Ted was our angler, followed by two more Mahi Mahi’s and a Kingfish.    Sailfish on the left short!!! – as he lethargically looked at the bait but was not interested – this fish must have fed not too long ago.  Hoping the next one will show some interest, the live Goggle Eye from the outrigger screamed off line, as the Sailfish exit

Fishing Fort Lauderdale on Happy Day Today with Capt. Zsak   Bob Johnson from California had time to kill before his plane was leaving to take him back home, so he chartered the Happy Day Today along with the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea charter fishing in Fort Lauderdale.  We had temperatures in the low 80’s, sun shining, wind out of the east at 12-15 mph, seas running 4-5 ft.   Fifteen minutes after leaving the dock, I started trolling at the sea buoy located in 120 ft. of water in Fort Lauderdale FL.  We put one #8 plainer down with a double hook Bonito strip with a black and blue sea witch in front.  For surface baits we went with two Ballyhoos and two Bonito strips and a Ballyhoo dredge for a teaser.    I headed to one of our 34 artificial wrecks located in Fort Lauderdale, ranging from 60 ft. of water out to 480 ft. consisting of 500 ft freighters to 30 ft. boats.  I trolle

Fishing Fort Lauderdale on Happy Day Today with Capt. Zsak   Juan Pablo, owner of Mkuze Falls Private Game Reserve in Africa, along with friends from Mexico, Carlo Moller Vuilleumier and his son and Pablo Gonzalez with his son chartered the Happy Day Today along with the Topshotfishing team to do some sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale FL.  Winds were out of the east northeast at 17 mph, seas running 5-8 ft. -  a sporty condition, but fishing for Sailfish, which is our target, should be favorable.   After purchasing a dozen live Goggle Eyes from T&T bait at the jetties in Fort Lauderdale FL, we traveled 1.8 miles to the drop off located in 120 ft. of water at the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale.  Due to little current, I headed north of the buoy to an artificial wreck located in 185 ft. of water.  When there is little or no current, it is a good practice to position yourself over some sort of structure that holds bait fi

Fishing Fort Lauderdale on Happy Day Today with Capt. Zsak   Tony Silvestri and his son Andrew from Tulsa, OK along with friend, Rodger Goldman and his children, Philip and Meredith, from Ponte Vedra, FL chartered the Happy Day Today along with the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea charter fishing in Fort Lauderdale FL.  The children on board ranged from ages 5-9.  Winds were out of the northeast at 15 mph, seas running 4-5 ft. with clear skies.   This was Rogers first time fishing with the Happy Day Today but his 13th time in trying to catch a Sailfish – Hopefully 13 will be his lucky number aboard the Happy Day Today!!!   We stopped to purchase a dozen live Goggle Eyes from T&T Bait.  Fifteen minutes from the dock, lines were in 120 ft. of water at the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale FL.  I put out two kites with two live Goggle Eyes from each kite and one live Goggle Eye from the outrigg
