I’ve fished all my life. I mainly fished freshwater the first half of my life, and now primarily saltwater. Regardless of where you fish, there are many things you can do before each trip to be better prepared and fish smarter. Before I started Fishing Status, I would have to visit many different websites to get the latest fishing reports, spots, weather, etc. for my area, just to get an idea of what I might catch and when to go. The main reason I started Fishing Status was for my own database of the latest fishing information to have at my fingertips. Over the last couple of months, I have been working hard to provide you with a single interface to view your local fishing forecast and all of the latest info within 50 miles of your target area. To date, you now have access to the following from the Home page: · Local Map · &a

Why You Should Be Fishing The Break (Hatteras, NC)

https://fishingstatus.com/fishing/details/indexId/956733

Are you fishing the break? If not, you have been missing out. A “break” can be many different things, but the two types of breaks I am referring to are related to water color and temperature. Not only will you catch more fish on the break, you will save time and gas looking for the right spot. Color Break The color break can usually be seen where two different waters meet. For a freshwater example, a creek or river might flow into a lake. If that creek is muddy, at the entrance to the creek from the lake, you may be able to see a line in the water where the mud from the creek is separated from the clear water of the lake. Fishing that line in the water can produce more fish. The same applies to offshore waters. Sometimes you can see where the green water meets the blue water. These types of color breaks are very important to finding the fish. Larger fish will hang out where the two waters meet and treat that line like a buffe

I've relied on hotspots or Honey holes for catching fish. it can be a affective fishing effort but remember it can be harder. If you have a favorite honey hole here is some advice. 1: Don't fish this honey hole every time you go you never know who else uses it and plus if you over work a honey hole it could begin to deplete with the species of fish. this is why people enforce Catch and Release so do I. one of my honey holes has ether become depleted of bream or its not the time to go. but with my concern of the little creek in symrna I hope it is not the case. The past 7 times we have in the creek we have had no luck. I have seen people near us that were fishing with a bucket which concerns me. I spotted 5 buckets in those 7 tr
