April 10th 2021 – We are finally in spring time here in Key West which can mean brisk Easterly winds with sailfish marching down the reef offering deep sea fishing charters a shot at one of our most prized sport fish. Deep Sea Fishing Report The deep sea fishing has been a bit slow these last few weeks for us here in Key West with the captains being super creative to put fish in the box for their people. That and the winds last week that kept us at the dock. Since then things have certainly heated up with the sailfish bite coming alive. Yesterday there were several reports of sailfish being caught on both live bait on kite and trolling. That bite came with a later in the day blackfin tuna bite these last few days coming up on the new moon phase. Lots of folks have been asking about the dolphin (mahi mahi) bite and there have been some mahi caught in the 200 – 500 ft range. Capt.
