When the calendar flipped to April the fishing improved instantly. March was a bit of a struggle but with the warming water temperature consistently in the sixties the fish are getting acclimated and feeding. I did two trips Monday and we landed 37 total with 9 over 4 pounds. The shallow bite is the dominant pattern now with most of our fish coming in 1-3 feet of water on plastics. Shallow bays and coves where spawning activity is seen is where the most fish catches are occurring. As the water warms the bluegill and shad will start to spawn and that will yield excellent fishing. If you are interested in fishing with a USCG licensed captain call 256-744-5185.
