Today was day three of our three day Homosassa Tarpon trip and unfortunately the weather just wasn't letting us make it happen. We tried to get to the flats but soon as me made it out there we were taking waves over the bow. I had Tom along for this trip and I said lets get back in the woods to save the day and catch a few. Well we did just that a...

The Short team was with me today and we pretty much did the same routine as yesterdays trip. I did push put a little bit deeper and we did well in that range too. The floating grass is awful so if your planning a trip it's a bait fishing game right now. I thank you both and I'll see you next time... Capt. Dan

A good grouper trip down South with Nancy and Bob and the husband and wife team did well. We stayed pretty shallow and fished the 8ft to 12ft range. Live pin fish was the bait of choice and fishing the clear water was fun. I thank you both as always and great job... Capt. Dan

Another good day on the shallow gags with Jim on board and grouper turned out to be our plan B. We had hoped in finding a tarpon but the stiff SE wind didn't allow us to make it happen. I made the run to a couple shallow rocks and ledges again and it worked out for us. Jim turned some real nice fish and secured and fine limit of Crystal River grou...

Always a fun day on the water when Bob from Pennsylvania is in town and we did well today. We had hopes in finding a tarpon but it was just to rough. So for my plan B we stayed shallow and bait fished a couple different rock piles and ledges for a fine catch of gags. Bob did great and secured a fine couple of grouper dinners.... Capt. Dan

A great day on the tarpon flats and I was able to put my good friend Socrates on his first big tarpon on the fly. We worked a couple areas down South and he put the fly in a group of happy fish perfectly. A couple strips and he was hooked up. He fought the fish beautifully and she came boat side in less than 30 minutes. A couple pic's we revived h...

A quick break in the tarpon action and I had Jason on board as he requested tackling some grouper. I had a great Memorial Day weekend on the tarpon as we boated 2 real nice fish and jumped 5 on the fly; but for today we changed it up. I took Jason to a couple different ledges and we brought in a fine limit of gag grouper and a 35" cobia for the da...

A fun day with Corey on board and he found the tarpon he was looking for. We set up made a couple long drifts and had our opportunity to make it happen. We used DOA bait busters and the right fish made his day. He fought the fish beautifully and a tarpon is now off his bucket list and a fiberglass replica will be in his home. A great day and I tha...

Hello everyone well our cobia trip turned into a redfish trip for Dennis and Nathan. I took a quick break in the tarpon action and mixed it up a bit. Unfortunately if was just to rough to go offshore to where I needed to and the gumbo slime was horrible covering our baits; which made dropping baits down offshore impossible. So we changed gears and...

Hello everyone I just wanted to check in and say I've mostly been fly fishing for tarpon the last couple weeks. Weather has been a huge factor lately with this relentless gusty East wind we've been having. Some days it's fishable some not so much. There's not a bunch of fish around but we have been jumping a few and having some shots on the fly. I...

Some red fish for Greg and Tom on today's trip and this father and son team did well. We started out trout jigging and caught several under slot fish but no keepers for us today. The tide was coming good though and we did just fine on the inside. A couple nice snook fought a whopper of a tiger shork for a bit and finished the day with a limit of l...

Another windy one on the big pond and it was a steady 15mph South wind all day. Scotty and Greg were my team and they did really well. We jigged in the 8ft range with MirrOlure Lil' Johns and found a fine limit of trout. The tide wasn't really good for much on the inside so we called it a day with a fine catch... Capt. Dan

The rain got us today but we had some fun before we got wet. I had the Weeks family on board and they had a ball. We started the trip putting a couple nice trout on ice and quality fish as well. I knew we didn't have a bunch of time before the weather hit us so there was enough tide to run inshore and let the team all catch there first snook. The...

Ray Bill Desiree Shannon and Kieth from New Jersey got onboard with @Bassonline for an early morning bite they had several Toho FL toads from the hydrilla lines in 4-7’ water. Fish surface activity was good and water quality same mid lake.  We watched a pesky dragon fly drop the egg sack into the boat.  Read More The post Early Morning Bite with N...
