Autumn 2026 Newsletter
Autumn delivers!
True trophy Spanish mackerel
Once again our Autumn season has delivered a some amazing fishing.
Big cobia for regular James
80cm of coral trout for Lysander
Bonefish double!
Longtail tuna of various sizes were caught using a range of techniques.
Top water, soft baits and metal slugs all worked in relevant scenarios.
Queenfish were another stand out with schools moving through the bay gathering to spawn.
Top water techniques are always great fun in queenfish in Autumn.
Our golden trevally have also been in abundance with fish over 1m caught regularly.
On the mackerel front broad bar, spanish, school and spotted were all about. Each year for the past few years we have seen good numbers of broad bar in the early season. These fish are generally big with fish to 8kg caught by guests.
On the shallow reefs we have had some fun with coral trout, cod, sweetlip and blackall.
For the fly fisherman golden trevally have been caught on the flats along with queenfish, GT's and grey bastards.
The up and coming winter season will see us focus deeper in the water column for species like snapper, trevally and longtail tuna. Mackerel species will still be on offer and at times we can have action packed days on those beautiful winter glass outs through winter.
If you're after dates for our winter season please be in touch.
Fuel Surcharge
Unfortunately, like many businesses in our industry, we have been significantly affected by the recent, ongoing rise in fuel prices. Fuel costs have increased substantially, and this trend shows no immediate signs of reversing.
We are very committed to providing you with the best possible fishing experience. This means allowing our guides to follow the fish and travel to the locations where the action is hottest, rather than being restricted by fuel budget considerations. To protect the quality of your charter and keep our guiding decisions focused purely on where the fish are biting, we have had to introduce a small fuel surcharge for bookings affected by these higher costs.
We truly value your understanding during this challenging time for marine-based businesses. Our goal remains the same: to get you on the water and onto good fish, and home with plenty of stories and photos.
