Winter Time Redfish in Charleston, SC

 | By CaptainAlex on 1/7/2019 12:00:00 AM | Views (492)

Winter is my favorite time of year for catching Redfish in Charleston, SC. Redfish are commonly found in large schools up and down the ICW. Currently sight fishing has been limited due to the large amounts of rain, but we are slowly seeing the water clear up.  Over the past week I have seen the water temp jump up to almost 60 degrees in some places, and the fish are feeding like crazy. Live shrimp have seemed to be the key to getting the redfish eat, however we are still catching them on Zman DieZel Minnowz paired with Eyestrike Texas Eye Jigheads. The trout have also started to show back up with the increasing water temps. We have been catching the trout in about 5ft of water located next to deep drops. Get out and enjoy the nice weather and fishing while it lasts.
