Boca Grande Fishing

Boca Grande or “Big Mouth” in Spanish, is the Tarpon Capital of the World. With an average of 5,500 tarpon caught during the 90 day season between May and July, no other destination records as many tarpon caught in the world. Boca Grande provides many more fishing opportunities to make it a top fishing destination worldwide.

Inshore fishing around Boca Grande not only provides Tarpon, but nearly year round there will be good fishing for Redfish. The Snook and Speckled Trout fishing is also great nearly all year round, and there are also Sheepshead, Bluefish, and Spanish Mackerel to catch close to shore.

There are many natural and artificial reefs offshore of Boca Grande and bottom fishing and/or trolling around these reefs will produce good catches of a variety of reef fish, including Red Snapper, Mangrove, Lane Snapper, Yellowtail Snapper, Gag Grouper, Red Grouper, Kingfish, Mahi-mahi, Wahoo, Amberjacks, Barracuda, and Sharks.
