Corpus Christi Fishing

Corpus Christi Fishing

When people think of Texas, they usually think of cowboys and scorching weather. However, the city of Corpus Christi proves that there is more to this state than those clichés. Corpus Christi is a coastal city that overlooks the Gulf of Mexico. The deep waters have made it an attractive port city, and the boom in commerce has allowed the area to grow into a buoyant city. In addition to its cultural attractions, Corpus Christi has become a tourist hotspot thanks to its beaches. The quality of Corpus Christi fishing has also helped.

To enjoy the best of Corpus Christi fishing, consider going offshore. The waters of the Gulf of Mexico are always lovely, and near Corpus Christi, they are vibrant with different species of fish. When you fish offshore here, you can catch big fish like Dorado, Wahoo, Billfish and different types of Tuna. The area has been amply developed for good offshore fishing, which means you have access to different domes and platforms. There is also excellent deep water Grouper and Tilefish on the bottom.

If you opt to fish a bit closer to shore, your Corpus Christi fishing options are just as diverse. The bottom fishing in these shallow waters is especially invigorating. The reefs here are numerous, and you can bring in Amberjack, Grouper, King Mackerel, Snapper, and Triggerfish. There are even different sharks in this area for your fishing consideration.

Finally, inshore fishing is also quite popular in Corpus Christi. From the shoreline, you have ample opportunity to catch Black Drum, Cobia, Flounder, Red Drum (Redfish), Speckled Trout and Tarpon. Freshwater fish are found in abundant supply in Lake Corpus Christi. In this lake, the most common catches are Largemouth Bass, Catfish and Redear Sunfish.
