Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
Georgetown is located on Winyah Bay at the confluence of three rivers. It is the third oldest town and the second largest seaport in South Carolina. Native Americans who lived in this region would fish from the rivers and ocean in addition to gathering berries and hunting animals in the forests. Spaniards were the first Europeans to settle in the area. In the mid-1600s, French and English settlers in the Georgetown area began trading with Native Americans. Because Georgetown was a major port, pirates frequented the waters to steal from merchant ships. With a rich history and great fishing, Georgetown ranks high on the list of best places in the southeast US.
