Hilton Head Island Fishing

Hilton Head Island Fishing

Hilton Head Island is a gorgeous community in South Carolina. Although South Carolina has a long stretch of coast along the Atlantic Ocean, few areas are better developed than Hilton Head Island. In fact, this is a worldwide tourist destination that is recognized as one of the best places to vacation on the planet. The beaches are spectacular. The golf courses are world-class. The fishing is top notch.

Inshore fishing around Hilton Head Island can be very productive in the backwaters of the estuaries. Common catches include Black Drum, Flounder, Red Drum, Tarpon and Spotted Trout. Closer to the inlet and beaches, good Bluefish, Cobia, and Spanish Mackerel can be found.

Going a little farther from the shoreline will open up your possibilities. Nearshore Hilton Head Island fishing is also quite appealing. With the many wrecks and reefs you can expect Amberjacks, Barracuda, and King Mackerel. On bottom you can find Black Seabass and many different species of Grouper and Snapper.

Offshore fishing Hilton Head Island, you can catch Blackfin Tuna, Blue Marlin, Mahi-mahi, Yellowfin Tuna, Sailfish and Wahoo. With so many options, it is clear that Hilton Head Island fishing offers something for everyone.
