Long Beach Fishing

Long Beach Fishing

Long beach is an iconic city near Los Angeles that draws crowds for its plentiful attractions on a picturesque waterfront. While some people are drawn to the Aquarium of the Pacific or the RMS Queen Mary, anglers also flock to the area for some unique fishing opportunities. Long Beach fishing is exciting and accessible, which is why it will continue to be an angling hotspot in California.

If you start with inshore Long Beach fishing, then there are lots of fun fish to consider. Bass are known to inhabit the waters near the shoreline in the Pacific, and the population in Long Beach is noteworthy. Your most common nearshore catches will be Calico Bass, Sand Bass, or White Seabass.

Long Beach is also known for the quality of its offshore fishing. Bottom fishing off of Long Beach can produce Halibut, Lingcod, Rock Cod, and several different species of Rockfish. During the spring and summer, you might be able to catch Yellowtail. However, the most popular offshore fish is Tuna. There are all types of Tuna swimming off of Long Beach. The most popular Albacore, Yellowfin, and Bluefin Tuna. There are also some big game fish to be caught including Blue Marlin and Swordfish.
