Naples Fishing

Naples Fishing

Naples, Florida is located on the Gulf of Mexico with close proximity to the Everglades and Ten Thousand Islands. Naples has a long fishing history that dates back to the time of the Indians who inhabited the area. With the Naples Pier that was first built in 1888 and the thousands of reefs and ledges that are close to the city, Naples is a great destination for fishing.

Inshore fishing in Naples you can expect to catch Redfish, Snook or Tarpon all year long and there are lots of Flounder, Sheepshead, and Speckled Trout in the area. Naples Bay and south into the backwaters have produced many quality fish for anglers.

There are more options for Naples fishing when you venture deeper. Reefs have always been an important part of the ecosystem in the Gulf of Mexico. The combination of artificial and natural reefs has kept many fish species coming back to Naples. These areas are ideal for bottom fishing. You might be fortunate enough to catch many different species of Grouper and Snapper. There are also Amberjacks, Barracuda, King Mackerel and Triggerfish on the reefs.

Naples offshore fishing in the Gulf of Mexico you may find Blackfin Tuna, Mahi-mahi, and Wahoo. There are also some billfish that come through each year including Blue Marlin and Sailfish.
