Townsville, a city on the Queensland coast, features access to the Great Barrier Reef and beautiful beaches. Several aboriginal peoples used to inhabit the land that is now Townsville, including Wulgurukaba, Bindal, Nawagi and Warakamai. Captain Phillip Parker King and botanist Alan Cunningham rediscovered the land in 1819.
