Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
Today consisted of clean water and good times sticking fish with friend and fellow fishing guide Tommy, along with Kent. With the low temps and low wind it was a perfect day to do some sight fishing.Fly rods were the weapon of choice this morning a gloomis nrx pro1 8wt was the rod that got it done today. Starting on high tide we pushed through a maze of oysters in search of singles and small groups of fish, but to our surprise we found more than that, a nice school of fish happily pushing around feeding on finger mullet. As Tommy pushed the skiff into position Kent was on the bow first, making the perfect cast Kent hooks up, unfortunately the fish ran to an oyster bar and broke him off. I quickly grabbed a spinning rod with a small paddle tail and was able to hook one with a quick reaction. The school of fish stayed calm and continued trying to eat the lure out of my fishes mouth, keeping the fish in the water it gave Kent enough time to grab another rod and make a cast to the other fish. Bam double up on nice reds we landed the fish and took a few quick pictures and sent them on they’re way.As the tide dropped out we made our way to a few different flats that were littered with schools of redfish, a great day of scouting and good times!
