Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
What an amazing spring break week of fishing here in Palm Coast and Flagler Beach! From snook crushing artificial lures to big redfish and sea trout blasting topwater plugs myself and some amazing clients seen it all this week. With water temps rising the bite is firing up. Lots of great redfish on the flats and creeks targeting deeps spots in the flats on low tide and oyster bars and grass banks on high tide we found lots of hungry reds. Also the flounder bite is getting good a mud minnow on a jighead or a small scented artificial lure resembling a mud minnow or mullet will do the trick for these flat fish. With lots of trout around targeting high current ares with lots of baitfish around is what I look for when trout fishing, a topwater plug at low light is a great option for trout, once the sun comes up I’ll switch over to a paddle tail or a free lined shrimp.
The spring inlet bite has picked up this week with lots of black drum and sheepshead around. For the black drum I like to use live shrimp or even better fresh dead shrimp on a 1/4oz-1/2oz jighead. Sheepshead can be a little tricky to hook sometimes so I like to use a small but strong hook, rigged up on a small knocker rig or a fish finder rig a fiddler crab on the bottom and a quick reaction time to a bite should catch some fish. Also approaching with the rising water temps (68-72) we will see cobia showing up on our nearshore beaches very soon. With that being said there is lots to do in Palm Coast and Flagler Beach currently so book a trip with Grand Slam Fishing to experience some great fishing and beautiful scenery!
