I would like to wish a Happy New Year to everyone. As most people in the fishing business will tell you 2024 was a tough year, we are hoping for 2025 to improve. It was a shame because fishing was spectacular from May thru our first cold front. It was nothing to catch a 100 Snook every day, then throw in some Tarpon, Redfish and other species. I fished allot of friends and family trips because it was so good. The trips I did had my customers leaving with smiles and that’s what it’s all about!
The fishing has been good since Thanksgiving along with the business, hoping this carries on into 2025.
If you notice I haven’t complained about the strong winds that we had from August thru November. They have settled down which gives us more opportunity to fish Fla. Bay, when the wind blows, I fish the backcountry which really produced during those windy months. Fla. Bay has produced some pretty good catches lately. Snook, Redfish, Black Drum, and tons of keeper Trout have been a daily catch.
There are plenty of lures out there, I choose the NLBN ‘s because they get eaten by everything! I have tried every combination of colors and they all work. One of the tricks to lure fishing is confidence, once you have it you will catch plenty of fish.
If you have teenage kids, they are probably using NLBN lures. They are popular, get some!
