July 6 and 7 (Big Fish Friday/Ameracan Day 1)

Headed out on Friday with Gerb and my son to do a little bit of scouting and to pre-fish
for the Ameracan.   Knew we had some fish not to far from the harbor, but were looking
for bigger fish.   Of course, since we were looking for walleye, we hooked into a very
nice Lake Erie Brown Trout!

                        

Also picked up a few walleye, and the customary silver bass and sheepshead.

On to the Ameracan, Day 1.

Fished today with Capt. Chris (Capt. Hook Sportfishing) and long time mate, Gerb.
Felt pretty comfortable that we had some fish to work today, but felt they were
smaller size than we needed, so we decided to gamble and troll way north.
Unfortunately for us, the walleye did not cooperate.   We only landed 4, plus
3 lakers and consequently find ourselves sitting well down the standings (
But tomorrow is another day, and Capt. Gary (Kongo) joins us, so we'll see
what we can do!

Congratulations to Capt. Tom (on of our mates), Capt. Bud (Alibi) and Capt.
Chuck (Lake Affect) for their strong Day 1 showing!   Good luck in the morning!
