Dominion Reef at the Gooses

 | By Seamus on 8/13/2017 7:27:58 PM | Views (590) Dominion Reef at the Gooses is a new reef site in the mid-Chesapeake Bay, near the historic Gooses fishing grounds. The water depth is 28' - 32', on a hard bottom ridge. Reef Material at this site is Woodrow Wilson bridge rubble, and shell. Typical fish species in this area are striped bass, bluefish, and croaker. MARI and DNR documented large numbers of black sea bass and juvenile spadefish on this site Cornerpoints (in degrees, minutes, seconds): 1. Northwest (NW) Corner: 38-34’21.53”N/76-25’09.82”W2. Northeast (NE) Corner: 38-34’21.27”N/76-24’40.91”W3. Southwest (SW) Corner: 38-33’17.12”N/76-25’13.49”W4. Southeast (SE) Corner: 38-33’17.35”N/76-24’41.47”WMost of the reef material has been deployed just north of the 30 foot “knoll” or rise at the southern end of the reef box.
