Guntersville FIshing Charter February 22nd Guntersville bass fishing report
The weather is warming and the moon is waxing which means big groups of hungry bass are moving out of the channel and searching for food in the shallows. There will be a group spawn on this moon phase but I think the vast majority will remain prespawn for a while. The key to finding these fish is setting up on a high percentage area near a spawning flat. Points and humps are key features that can hold groups of big fish at the moment. I did 3 guide trips this week and we averaged 20 fish landed per day with the size being the best we have seen all year. Our largest 5 fish were over 22 pounds each day. The fish we are targeting are in 8-9 feet within site of spawning bays. Our best baits are crankbaits and jerkbaits. If you are interested in fishing with a USCG licensed captain call 256-744-5185.

In this hot weather taking care of our resource is imperative. The fishing industry generates 500 billion dollars per year. To put that in perspective the NFL generates 19 billion. Without the fish there is no fishing industry. If you catch a nice...
