Hello My name is Captain Tom Fredrickson born in Natick, Mass. I lived there until I was 9 years old, then one day my parents packed up the family car and moved to sunny south Florida, Ft. Lauderdale, [thank god]!! Growing up down there was totally different from the north but it did not take me long to adapt, I was fishing and surfing every spare minute I had when I wasn't working. My parents owned and operated the Green Lantern Motel in Lauderdale By The Sea. It sure was great being 1 block from the beach, needless to say I felt as though I was the luckiest guy on earth!! We had a 32' Offshore sport fishing boat [The Flying Cloud] and fished all the time. In 1963 my mom Mary Fredrickson won the ladies division of the Bahia Mar Blue Marlin tournament and in 1960 my father in law, Captain Bill Benson won the whole tournament. So it is safe to say fishing runs in my blood. I have been fishing the Treasure Coast area since I moved here, married my childhood sweetheart and raised my family in 1975. We feel truly blessed to have remained in this paradise [Vero Beach] and feel proud to call it home. Every day on the water is a totally new and exciting adventure never knowing what you will see or end up with on the other end of your fishing line.
