Hey fishermen I had the pleasure of running Flash 1 today.I had a 2 person private charter. This was a 1/2 day trip. I spent the first 2 hours looking for bass but the very slow tide caused the bass not to bite. So we switch to halibut. After about 2 hours we were done and... Another wild fishing day at Jurassic Park. Water was as flat as a pancake zero wind and 70 degrees air temp. As soon as we dropped in our lines it was like catfishing in a barrel. Double after double the big chili peppers came up. The pic shows some of the catch for the day. […] The post September 2 appeared first on Monterey Bay and Santa Cruz Fi...

Awesome Jurassic Park trip today with early limits for four (pic only shows some of the fish and missing one fisherman). Came in closer to shore for halibut but didn’t find any takers. Thanks Marvin (and his mother) for sharing the tasty pupusas! The post September 1 appeared first on Monterey Bay and Santa Cruz Fishing Charters.

Nice flat water for our afternoon halibut trip. Went down the coast where the halibut had been biting and trolled. No takers! Went to a Capitola reef and picked up some blue rockfish. Today was the last day for local rockfish fishing. Will open again May 2024. The post August 31 appeared first on Monterey Bay and Santa Cruz Fishing Charters.

Local rockcod trip today. With the impending effects from storm Hilary catching close to shore was slow (too much ground swell). We moved out a couple miles to deeper water and found lots of blues and olives. Kept the best 50 for Syvia and her family. Came back early and had a great picnic on […] The post August 20 appeared first on Monterey Bay a...
