Wow, November has not been like it typically is. Usually November we have absolutely perfect weather conditions but this November we have been beat up by some high winds. There were a few days where I was fishing in 25 to almost 30 mile an hour winds. However, as of today the wind dropped and we started off with really calm conditions, which was such a welcomed change of pace. Over the last 10 days I have been able to fish with a number of different clients. The wind didn't start to get really bad until right around election day, no surprise, but I started off the month with Peter and he was able to land a few bonefish, the following day I fished with Jordan and we caught a bunch of different species including very cool look downs. The next couple of days was with Dan and Jim in 25 to almost 30 mile an hour winds and the bonefish would not cooperate, although I've had some fantastic bonefish days under these brutal conditions. Then I fished with Glenn for a couple of days where we caught trout on top water, missed quite a few snook on top water and tried bonefishing, but that was slow. The next trip was with Paul and Bill, and these guys were a blast to fish with. We fished a six hour charter and here we caught snook and bonefish so the fishing has started to write itself. I wrapped up this week with Chad and then Bob on the following day. The goal here was just a catch different species. Chad and Nathan had some opportunities to hook snook, but the snook were playing tough to get as they would blow up on the plug and miss but eventually we caught lady fish and jacks which were always a blast on top water. I end this report with Bob and we were flyfishing. There were no bonefish for the first half hour of our abbreviated half day charter so being pressed for time we fished another area for jacks and ladyfish but these wise guys seem to stay just far enough out of casting range where we couldn't present a fly to them. Thankfully, the wind has laid down, the weather has improved and my hope is that it will be smooth sailing from now on with perfect weather conditions and great fishing.
