Lake Lanier Fishing

Lake Sidney Lanier is a 38,000 acre reservoir located about 50 miles northeast of Atlanta, Georgia. It was created by the construction of the Buford Dam on the Chattahoochee River in 1956. With over 59 square miles of water and over 690 miles of shoreline, there is a lot of different opportunities for fishing Lake Lanier.

Lake Lanier is known for its excellent Striped Bass fishing. The current lake record of 47 pounds and 12 ounces was caught in April, 2010 on a chartreuse and pepper plastic lizard, near the mouth of Bald Ridge.
