Starting Monday we will be closed during the week and reopen on Friday—March 6th through Sunday March 8th. Office hours will be 7:00 am to 1:00pm. Customers who want to come up during that time will need to call 320-676-8740 and let us know. The regulation changes to 5 Tullibee and 5 Perch have definitely […] The post February 28th 2026 first appe...

Yesterday a fisherman in his wheelhouse went out for Perch and had some action but it was slow. We removed the ramps crossing the pressure ridge on the South Spider Road so we only have one access point to cross it on the Tullibee Road. We will keep that going over the weekend for wheelhouses […] The post February 25th 2026 first appeared on Lybac...

Yesterday we pulled all the houses except for a rental coming on Thursday for Perch and Northern Pike. We made a few more readily available to set up if needed. There is approximately 30″ of ice in most areas with little snow cover so we will remain open for some time yet for wheelhouses and portable […] The post February 24th 2024 first appeared...

The ice is shaping up well with the colder weather. Road banks and existing snowdrifts need to be avoided because the water they collect has not yet frozen. Ice depth is approximately 30″ and access to the lake is in excellent condition. The bite has been the same with small Walleye in deeper water […] The post February 20th 2026 first appeared...

Things are freezing up good out there with the temps dropping and it’s looking like it will be a good weekend. The weather systems seemed to just roll around us up here on the lake at the lake. Our access was closed yesterday as we wanted things to freeze up some but is open today […] The post February 19th 2026 first appeared on Lyback's Ice Fish...

Overnight we received some rain and slushy snow. This morning the temps are starting to drop and things should freeze up quite well out there in the next 24-36 hours. For that reason we closed our access for the next 24 hours so things could freeze up out there. Our access to the lake is […] The post February 18th 2026 first appeared on Lyback's I...

Fishermen coming in this morning reported pretty decent fishing. The gravel bar activity was ok but showed some signs of slowing down. Perch and Walleye activity is improving on the shallow reefs and basin areas.  They are not “jumping out of the holes” by any means but they are well worth the effort for sure.  […] The post February 11th 2026 firs...

Yesterday there were a few fishermen out. Some got into the Perch and lots of them got into the shallow basins. The majority were small but 10″-12″ Perch were occasionally mixed in and with the limit at five since Feb 9th most got their meal.  Walleye continue to run on the small side during the […] The post February 10th 2026 first appeared on Ly...

The bite Friday overnight and Saturday was slow for most but as always there were exceptions. Even though fisherman said it was slow most were busy with 12″ Walleye some with small Perch with a few Jumbo’s mixed in. A few “keepers” in the shallower water. Almost everyone checking out this morning had some action.  […] The post February 8th-9th 202...

As temperatures rose over the weekend the ice warmed expanded and shifted several times and will likely continue to do so until temperatures stabilize.  Over the next couple of days it should stabilize somewhat until the next warm-up. Almost everyone out on the lake Saturday night felt the shift a couple of times.  With little […] The post Februar...

Overnight some fishermen had some good action both shallow and deep. With the weather change coming today and tonight the bite will improve. It’s been a long cold spell and the warmer weather will be welcomed by most. I’ll make sure to post some pictures received today tomorrow. Full moon early this am. With warmer […] The post January 31st 2026 f...

Over the last 36 hours the bite has been mostly early morning and late afternoon. The best depths have been 24-28 feet.  Shallow evening spots are also becoming more active. It’s time for some of the fishing to improve in the shallow water.  This weekend some anglers will be going deep and some going shallow.  […] The post January 30th 2026 first...

Yesterday all the rentals showed up and were settled in before dark. This morning when we make the rounds we’ll see how the bite is going with this cold weather and high barometer. With the winds dying down -25 degrees didn’t feel that cold this am. We are making ice now with 21-22 inches being […] The post January 24th 2026 first appeared on Lyba...

Wednesday night the bite was pretty good on the NW side of the Graveyard and yesterday most of our customers went home to beat the wind and whiteout conditions predicted.  By the afternoon it was pretty nasty out there. Only one regular customer stayed out overnight. After the moves on Wednesday the guys fired up […] The post January 23rd 2026 fir...

Today the bite was sporadic with some doing ok and some not having any luck at all. The deeper water did best during the day but those with electronics said most were just lookers. The shallow houses were slow but late in the day the action picked up for them. Some nice Smallmouth were C/R […] The post January 21st 2026 first appeared on Lyback's...

Tuesday-Wednesday the better bite was from 3:00 pm until after dark according to most who reported. Walleye from 12″-14″ were the bulk of the catches. One angler was up all  Tuesday night C/R Small Walleye and ran out of bait.  A few slots and larger Walleye were reported. A few Anglers had some pretty good […] The post January 15th 2026 first app...

Since Sunday the bite has been pretty slow with the warmer weather over the last couple of days. Both deep and shallow. Not sure what it is with the warmer weather (steady low barometer?) but it seems to happen quite often. This afternoon with the wind change and cool down approaching many reported activity from […] The post January 13th 2026 firs...

From what I heard most reports said the best fishing was on Friday and Friday night. Saturday when the wind switched NW it slowed down except for some action between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm. Overnight and this morning were slow.  Almost everyone had some action at some point. This week will be spent getting […] The post January 11th 2026 first appeare...

Fishing over the weekend was pretty good for most anglers. Numerous 20-inch plus Walleye were caught and Northern Pike were C/R on a couple of the in-close reefs—the majority of the action involved under-slot Walleye and Perch. We are in the process of pulling out the remaining permanent house customers this week. We have established […] The post...

In the last 24 hours the most Walleye over 20″ were caught in 20′ of water or less. The deeper water had action but most were under the slot size ranging from 6″ to 15″ spanning 3-4 year classes which is good for the future. The area where we are going to cross the pressure […] The post January 3rd 2026 first appeared on Lyback's Ice Fishing.
