Fort Lauderdale has the nickname "Venice of America" due to the over 300 miles of canals that weave through the city. Tuna fishing the Gulf Stream can be rewarding with Blackfin, Yellowfin, and Skipjack Tuna. Ther eis also excellent Mahi-mahi and Wahoo fishing nearly all year long.

Fishing the many reefs and wrecks near Fort Lauderdale provides fishermen with excellent catches of Grouper and Snapper most of the year. Trolling these waters will produce King Mackerel and Baracuda. Fishing the many canals, bridges, and inshore waters in Fort Lauderdale gives anglers the opportunity to target Tarpon, Pompano, Jacks, Drum, and Flounder much of the year.
