I downloaded the files to change them into .usr for my Lowrance unit but how do I download the way points in my area into readable format by name as they are listed on fishing status map.so I can print out a hard copy and have them in an Excel program so I can group them and delete/edit them accordingly. once edited, how do i get them back to .usr file format from excel so i can use the edited way points on my Lowrance.

so, gpx/kml file->computer->excel readable format->edited way points-> either gpx/kml or directly to .usr

We already provide an Excel file in the zip downloads, as well as a link from any fishing report or spot on the site to download a dynamic 25 mile radius Excel file of all fishing spots. This can be used for editing the spots. Converting the Excel back to USR is complicated. However, I would suggest using the KML file and opening it in Google Earth and editing it. Save to KML file and convert to USR using GPSBabel.
