Fort Pierce Fishing

Fort Pierce Fishing

Fort Pierce is known as the Sunrise City, and as one of the best places to fish on the east coast of Florida. With thousands of artificial and natural reefs nearshore providing excellent bottom fishing, and great inshore and offshore fishing, Fort Pierce, Florida is one of the top fishing destinations worldwide.

Fort Pierce has lots of good structure and reefs close to shore. Bottom fishing and trolling around these reefs will produce good catches of a variety of reef fish, including Lane Snapper, Mangrove Snapper (Black Snapper), Red Snapper, Vermillion Snapper, Gag Grouper, Red Grouper, King Mackerel, Amberjacks, Barracuda, and Sharks.

Inshore fishing around Fort Pierce provides excellent Redfish fishing nearly year round. The Speckled Trout fishing is also great a good portion of the year, with the highlight being in the fall. Black Drum, Bluefish, Flounder, Sheepshead, and Spanish Mackerel are also some of the most targeted species of fish in the bay and close to shore.

Offshore fishing Ft Pierce can produce Blackfin, Dolphin (Mahi-mahi), Yellowfin, and Wahoo. There is also lots of Sailfish and some Blue Marlin to be found. For those that like the deep, you can catch Swordfish out past 200 fathoms.
