A great day on the sheepshead and that was the request for the Robert's couple. We set up on a couple different ledges and sent down the shrimp. The bite was great on the last of the out going tide and slack tide; but soon as it turned it became a challenge. The inshore rushing water slowed the bite as we only picked up a couple but numerous gags...

Another frosty morning so we did a late take off and left at 10am for today's trip. I had the Paff team on board and we spent a 1/2 day targeting some sheepshead. The full moon is upon us and it really kicked in the sheepshead bite. Live shrimp on knocker rigs were the deal and we had plenty of action. A great day and I thank you all... Capt. Dan

A fun day with Chris and Gerald as we caught some trout and sheepshead. The day started out running offshore a bit dropping on some sheepshead spots and we caught a few; but it really was a slow bite and a couple pulled off on their way to the top. The tide was coming in good so we changed gears ran shallow and caught some nice trout on DOA jerk b...

What a fun day to spend my birthday with my good friend Hunter as we fished one of my favorite places the Rainbow River. I love that crystal clear water and we did very well. We totaled over 20 bass for the day - no giants but several couple pounders on a variety of lures. From whacky worms to top water pugs; all produced very well. A great dat bu...

Ice on the boat this morning folks and yes it was a cold one. I had Jeff and Helen on board for a 1/2 day trip and we found a few. The bite was slow as the gulf is still in the mid 50's but we found enough sheepshead for a meal or two. Live shrimp on a light 1/8thoz jig head did the trick and I thank you both.... Capt. Dan

What a gorgeous day to go offshore and Mark and Craig had an awesome trip. I pushed on out to 40ft of water today and the snapper bite was great. The team secured a beautiful limit of keeper mangos plus some hefty sheepshead as well. We used close to 300 shrimp and it was a busy day of catching. I thank you both and terrific job... Capt. Dan

A different change of pace from what I've been doing and it was fun to stay inside and find some trout. Paul and Gary were my team and we did well after just a little bit of a slow start. I haven't been inshore at all so it took me a bit to find the pattern. Soon enough though we were on them. Just using DOA glow jerk baits in the creeks did their...

My goodness probably the coldest I've been on the water in sometime; but we made it happen. It's been tough to make it out lately between the weather and my treatments I've been doing. Today though was definitely doable just the cold to contend with and we did well. I had the boys on board and we stayed busy offshore with grunts snapper grouper an...

A great sheepshead opener with Dan Joe and Lauren out of Crystal River. We fished a couple different pieces of hard bottom and caught a few on each drop. Mostly smaller males we encountered with just a couple larger females mixed in. The spawn usually starts in to next month and March when we find the big sheep's. A great day good conditions and I...

Happy New Year everyone! I want to thank all of you that fished with me this past year and those of you that follow my website. Some really great catches and I'm looking forward to another fun year. I still have some health issues to deal with but we'll work around them and I'll fish as much as I can. Today I started out the new year on one of our...

We stayed on the inside for todays trip with Melissa and Geoff on board and did ok. The bite wasn't hot and heavy but steady enough to keep us interested. Dropping down on a couple different rocks and ledges did the trick and by 1pm we had a nice limit. You both did great and I thank you... Capt. Dan

I made the run to the 30ft hot zone with John Bob and Nelson as the team and they did great. Pretty much one stop shopping and they secured a really nice catch of grouper. Lots of action with undersized gags as well filled out the day. We released few others and it sure was a pretty day. We have a couple days left of the season but a bitter cold f...

Wow... Some big dogs on today's trip with the Swain team and once again we pushed offshore quite a bit. The seas were a bit bumpy but doable with a good ground swell that made you have your sea legs. Jim and Jimmy did a really nice job turning some big ones and a whopper at around 20lbs topped off our day. Just dropping down pin fish did the trick...

It's definitely a deeper game right now and we made the 20 mile ride to 30ft today. Marilyn and David were my team again and they sure did great. Marilyn had the hot rod for the gags and she whipped them in to shape; while bringing some real nice ones on board. David was the snapper man with some quality mangos coming on board. Great job to you bo...

A great day offshore with Rick and Greg. We're still having to push offshore a bit due to the cold water temperatures but if you're up for a ride; the gags are there. We stayed in the 30ft range and did awesome. Several nice grouper came on board and smiles were had. I thank you both and great job Greg on the bonus tripletail..... Capt. Dan

We made the ride offshore Homosassa today to the deeper stuff and it was awesome. I had the Millennium Metals team on board and they turned some fine gags. I pulled my bait traps and then parked it in about 35ft of water. One stop shopping and the team had a limit of real nice quality grouper on live pin fish. A pretty day good fishing and I thank...

We got them today but definitely noticed a bit of a slower bite with the chilly gulf conditions. We've had a series of cold fronts now and the gulf is right around 60 degrees. The shallower spots take a bit more patience but the 25ft range and deeper; the fish will be more aggressive. Jim and Gerald did fine today though with a nice limit caught o...
