ICE REPORT: UPDATE 12.16.22 Much of the open water has froze over with about 90% ice covered. There is still open water in some areas including points East by Witchers Cove and the areas around Goose Island and still some west between Stoll and Lazy Boy. Areas of new ice at North Shore behind the Marina has gotten to 5”. Cross Creek is seeing up to 10”. Extreme Caution advised. Don’t go alone and be sure to have ice picks around your collar. This has been a strange freezing process this year so far. Wind has been the ice’s nemesis. It’s been cold but not that cold. Ice cleats advised.

CURRENT CONDITIONS: No new snow. All fishing access areas are open some camp ground areas are closed. Electric sites behind the Park Office are open for use. Roads are clear. New ice is slick with no snow covering. Drill test holes.

WATERCRAFT RENTAL: In addition to contest sign up you can reserve boats now for 2023 at 2022 rates by clicking the “REGISTER NOW” box.

WATER FLOW: 132 CFS IN 139 CFS OUT

WATERDOGS: Waterdogs have been a hot bait for PIKE through the ice. We have made predictions before regarding supply issues on certain products as things have been challenging the last two years. We don’t see good news on waterdogs moving forward. Drought conditions in critical areas and early freeze will more than likely restrict supply overall. We just got some in and anticipate there being a supply in the early part of the season. But when they’re gone the right size will be near impossible to get. Bring your bait bucket and put them up..they last a long time.

Weather Station: Although we got our on site live weather station working as seen below we have had technical issues with the camera feed and still have not solved the problem.

ELEVEN MILE STATE PARK IS LOCATED IN THE SOUTH PARK NATIONAL HERITAGE AREA

PIC # 1: 12.14.22

PIC # 2: 12.14.22

PIC # 3: 11 Mile Marina Ice Lazers have caught fish here year in and year out. We have been making these for a long time and they are a proven successful jig. The Tiny Tot or Krystal Lazer tipped with a meal or wax worm won’t let you down and are only available at 11 Mile Marina.

TROUT: GOOD: The early ice at Cross Creek/Sucker Cove was epic for a lot of anglers. Things have cooled off a bit but action is still good particularly early morning until about 11:00AM. If you want early ice action you need to go where the ice is recent. Cross Creek has been froze since Thanksgiving. North Shore marina areas, Coyote Ridge and Rocky Flats are some of those spots. Hot color patterns change almost daily. Chartreuse one day, orange the next and pink the next. Dead sticking has been successful with smaller jigs like a Tiny Tot or Rat Finke. Sometimes just a small hook and a meal worm will do the the trick. Spoons have also done well depending on the time of the day. In some areas of Cross Creek the weeds are just a couple feet below the ice. Place your jig just above the weeds.

KOKANEE SALMON: NO REPORT

NORTHERN PIKE: FAIR: A number of smaller fish with some at 26 to 28 inches being landed. Tube jigs, tube jigs with sucker meat or crawler and waterdogs have seen takers.

SPECIAL NOTE: 11 Mile Marina is located at the North Shore in Eleven Mile State Park, Lake George Colorado. A CPW Park Pass is required on all vehicles entering the Park.  Any fees for Guide/Outfitter/Rental services do not include Park fees, CO fishing license or gratuities.
