Reports over the past few days have been mixed with some inshore boats reporting things being on the slower side if anglers are looking for something other than bluefish, but they still put together some decent catches this week. Red drum are biting, a few Spanish mackerel, trout, and sheepshead hitting the docks, and nice Cobia as well.
Wednesday’s weather kept most boats at the dock or had them coming in early.
Thursday seemed to be a good day, both inshore and offshore. We saw good Cobia catches. Offshore charters brought in nice blackfin tuna and dolphin catches, and Offshore Open participants were getting great Marlin bites.
Friday was rough for everyone for both weather and fishing. The Offshore Open participants saw significantly fewer bites than the day before while also fighting rough seas. Many of the smaller boats called it the quits early.
Offshore charter boats also struggled on Friday bringing in just a few tuna, dolphin, and some triggerfish. Inshore boats also fought rough waters and had to scrap together their catches. Saturday’s weather is significantly better and we’re looking forward to seeing what comes in throughout the day!
