Finally some stable conditions yielded excellent catch rates and consistent fishing. This week it has been warm and the water is clearing. We guided everyday and our average catch rate was around 30 per day with the best 5 at 19lbs. This time of year is fun if you like to figure things out and move around. There are still some fish up shallow around the beds, there are groups of fish out on the creek ledges and there are fish in between. Our best baits have been a swimbait and a crankbait. Everything in the lake is in a spawning phase. Bluegill are shallow and the shad are getting ready to spawn. This is a great time to be out on guntersville to catch quality and quantity.
