Labor Day weekend is coming up and there is already a ton of boats out on the lake. Be careful out there. The fishing for this time of year is the best I have ever seen it. The grass is healthy, the current is flowing and the stocking program is paying off. I guided 3 days this week and our average catch rate was 30 per day. Big fish for the week was 6 pounds with several 4 pounders being caught. 3 patterns are working: Deep summer ledges, frogging and punching, outside grasslines. Our best baits this week were a beaver on a punch rig and a crankbait. The water has cooled down to 83 degrees and as it gets cooler the fishing will keep getting better.
