Strickly Fishing Charters Fishing Report for Pensacola Beach 03-19-19
Spring has sprung in Pensacola and the fishing is heating up! We mostly fished inshore this week with the high wind advisories but the fish still bit really well! We mainly focused on sheepshead this week. They are staging up for their spawn and are starting to feed really well. Most of these fish were caught on live shrimp and fiddler crabs. We also caught a few on sand fleas as well. The best rig we used was a rig that bird of prey have come out with that is a hook attached to the weight. We caught 80% of our fish on these rigs and they work flawlessly. We also are still catching redfish as well. We got in to a good school the other day with the biggest fish right at 20 pounds! Y'all be sure to check out the Facebook page to keep up to date information on what we are catching! The Pensacola Fishing Charters have been really good this week! We are seeing a lot of redfish, black drum again and also some nice size sheepshead are starting to make their way to the lower Pensacola Bay. Live shrimp has been the bait of choice. The type of rig has been a Carolina Rig fished around structure. These fish are a really good fighting fish and even better on the table! The deep sea fishing charters have been very good as well. If the weather has allowed us to get out there we are catching some very nice vermilion snappers as well as some nice triggerfish. We are also seeing some really nice amberjacks which season will open in May but they are still a BLAST on light tackle. For a future forecast the inshore fishing charters should continue to see more sheepshead in better numbers in the coming weeks. The Spanish mackerel should also start making their way here and those fish are an absolute blast on light tackle! Our books are filling up fast so make sure to give us a

With Spring quickly approaching lets talk about what Pensacola Florida fishing charters have to offer for the future. For February and March we can expect sheepshead, black drum, redfish, and trout for our inshore charters. Most of these fish will be caught on live shrimp or other type of crab/shrimp. The majority of the time we fish for these species we are looking for deep water structure and a swift current to drift fish these areas. All of these fish are great fighters and absolutely great table fare! On our deep sea fishing charters we can expect a lot of vermilion snappers, also triggerfish will open March 1st! Both of these fish are great eating! We can also catch some amberjacks and other larger snappers for catch and release due to their season not being open. These fish are a lot of fun and will give you the fight of a lifetime! With warmer temperatures and Spring Break on the way now is the time to book your fishing charters for the Month of March! The fishing and weather have been awesome the past few days in Pensacola Florida. We mainly did deep sea fishing charters this week and the fish did not disappoint! We caught plenty of vermilion snapper. These fish were caught using cut mackerel and squid fished around large structures in the Gulf of Mexico. We also caught a few nice red snapper that put up a heck of fight! Most of these fish were caught on live bait fished around the same structures. Inshore we are still seeing a few redfish along with some trout as well. Sheepshead should start making there way to their spring pattern soon and there will be plenty of action to go around! Well the weather looks shot for the next couple of days so here is a little report of what we have had going on the past week. We have still been catching a lot of redfish in the bay on our inshore fishing charters. These fish are still hanging on the large structures in Pensacola Bay. The deep sea fishing charters has been great as well. We were able to get out the other day and got us a couple nice groupers along with a good mess of Vermilion Snappers. These grouper were caught on live bait and the vermilion and white snapper were caught on squid.
