PIC # 1: 11 Mile Marina guide Carl Eslinger scores a great first time out of the season. Three nice Kokanee in a bunch of great Trout. And when you catch that many fish the action is non stop.
PIC # 2: Two Kokes caught out back of the Marina. He said he lost four. Orange Macks Wedding Ring.
PIC # 3: It’s not who know its Julio with two nice kokes caught just a few minutes ago. In the wind. The fish don’t care.
TROUT: FAIR TO GOOD: Last weekend saw two nice low wind weather days. Lots of great action for many boaters. Shore anglers saw decent action early and late in the day with a few good bites in early afternoon. Many different baits working as Spring bite starts to pick up steam. Just a few more degrees increase in water temp and it should be full on action.
KOKANEE SALMON: FAIR TO GOOD: Bite is on! We were hoping this past stellar Winter action would continue into boating season and so far the signs are very promising. No limits yet (10) but decent action for many that try. There does not seems to be a singular best bait. Macks Wedding Rings are doing well in addition to BT Tas Devil 7gram, Needlefish in pick/white and orange/white. Stop in for latest update as things progress.
NORTHERN PIKE: FAIR: Reports have action fair on the West end in 5 to 10 feet of water. Firetiger pattern Rapala F18 and they have brought back the F18 Pike pattern which was discontinued for a few years. It’s a good one when the pike are spawning as they are aggressive. Wind is your friend but not the kind we have been having
