Roy and crew delivered again today with an afternoon bite to remember. Every flyer that went out lasted only a few minutes with a beautiful grade of tuna. One after another after another with Capt Roy yelling… NEXT! Captain and crew handled the controlled chaos with great care. We had 3-4 fish hooked constantly for…

It's a great time to be on the water. Run-off is still a few weeks out and the fish are looking up. We've had a recent spike in flows that is already dropping. A nice refresh to stir things up. This next couple weeks should have some good dry fly fishing in the afternoons. [...] The post Pre Run-off appeared first on Bigfork Anglers.

Steelhead fishing on the Manistee and Betsie Rivers has been slower than normal for this time of year. While we have received some rain events over the past two weeks the fish haven’t showed up in significant numbers but rather just a trickle of fresh fish. Because the land is dry (lack of snow pack […]

First trip of 2024 is in the books. Good anglers joined us through a little rough weather to catch some haddock. Many people had 2-5 haddock a few anglers had 9-11. Steady bite on clams fish were hitting hard when we were on them. Mix of reds and pollock also.

Wow!!! I am thrilled to see my home lake is producing as good as it has in decades. 10th place in the local weekend tournament was 18 pounds. I had a guide trip today on Neely and it was just spectacular. We landed 40 and our best 5 fish was 19 pounds. We caught them every stop out on the river and in the creeks. A brown and orange jig as well as...

As we find ourselves in the throes of mid-April it’s evident that Mother Nature is sending us mixed signals. The sudden onset of fierce winds paired with unpredictable fronts has shaped an intriguing scenario for those with a rod and reel in hand. This atmospheric shuffle appears to have worked in favor of bass fishermen […] The post LAKE GUNTERSV...
