Boston Fishing

Boston Fishing

Boston is known for a mixture of culture and history, such as tasty seafood, baseball and the major role it played in the American Revolution. Established in 1630, Boston is one of the oldest cities in the US. Even after the US won the American Revolutionary War, Boston continued to be a major port, manufacturing center and hub for education and culture. The city added land to its municipality over the years since its founding. Before European settlement, Native Americans would move to the coast during summer to fish. Boston fishing offers more than the Atlantic Ocean. You have lakes and streams to fish from as well.

There are many prized fish you could catch while inshore fishing in Boston, including Atlantic Mackerel, Black Sea Bass, Bluefish, Cod, Flounder, Spanish Mackerel, Spotted Seatrout and Striped Bass. If you go nearshore fishing, you may want to target Bluefish, Black Sea Bass and Spanish Mackerel. Bluefin Tuna, a popular species in Boston fishing, is available offshore.

May is one of the best months for targeting Bluefish, Striped Bass and Fluke. Bluefin Tuna is abundant in June and July. Almost every species is easy to catch in September with Bluefin Tuna, Bluefish, Fluke, Shark, Stripers and Tautog being especially active. If you are fishing Boston in the winter, good fish to target are Flounder, Haddock, Halibut and Pollock. Fishing in Boston can be productive most of the year.
