The numerous coves and points provide excellent habitat for largemouth bass. Striped bass may be found here from spring through fall. Approach the shoreline of these coves with spinnerbaits or buzzbaits during spring and early summer for largemouth bass. Jerkbaits, such as a Husky Jerk or Popper slowly worked in a “walk-the-dog” manner, will stimulate fish into striking. Switch to a Texas-rigged plastic worm in purple or motor oil when largemouth go deep. Striped bass are best caught with frozen anchovies during spring. Jigging spoons such as a Kwikfish or Hopkins are also productive.
