For saltwater fishing there are two main points in Ecuador: The Galapagos Islands and the mainland coast of Ecuador

On the coast, Salinas (province of Guayas) and Manta (province of Manabí) on the Pacific coast are the main fishing centers on the high seas. The fresh and nutrient waters of the Humboldt stream provide a constant supply of bait are ideal for catching goldfish (Coryphaena hippurus), barracudas (Sphyraena indiastes), blue and black billfish, yellowfin tuna and longfin tuna (Thunnus thynnus, Thunnus Alalunga) and lots of other species.

Freshwater Fishing There are several lakes and rivers throughout Ecuador for this exciting sport.
