North facing open bay surrounded by 20m high chalk cliffs with deep fissures between the sedimentary strata. Upper intertidal zone = sandy beach strewn with chalk boulders. Mid intertidal zone = chalk bedrock terraces carved with fissures and gullies. Lower intertidal and sublittoral zone = chalk boulders with sandy patches between them, kelp park on boulders. Notable habitats: sea caves, intertidal and subtidal chalk, Sabellaria spinulosa reefs. Some litter on beach, more seen underwater. A few walkers on cliffs and beach (jet skis, fishing boats and sea kayaks have been observed here on other occasions but this was a weekday. 799661 497771
