Hooking Up Anglers Since 2011.
Fishing across Tampa Bay this week has been extremely consistent, especially on the shallow grass flats during moving water. Redfish have been cruising the edges early in the mornings, with several quality fish coming off light tackle around oyster bars and mangrove shorelines. As the sun gets higher, we’ve been finding snook staged tight to structure and ambushing bait along the shade lines.
The water clarity has improved with the recent tide swings, which has made sight fishing on the flats especially productive. Live bait has been working well, but artificial lures are also producing when fish are actively feeding. Speckled trout are scattered across the open flats and providing steady action throughout the morning hours.
If you're planning a trip soon and want to get in on the current bite, you can find available dates and trip details for our Tampa Bay fishing charters here:
With warmer weather patterns settling in, the early-to-mid-morning bite remains the most productive window. As always, adjusting to tide movement and staying mobile has been key to staying on active fish.
Sheephead have made their move into Tampa Bay and will be the majority of what is being caught with Trout inside of Tampa Bay through February into mid-march.
Looking forward to another strong week on the water.
