Winter king fishing has been pretty good lately and if you're in the right spot at the right time you can get some nice fish. I was out by myself a couple of days ago and had a 14 lb. king in the box about 20 minutes after I put my line down. Reports from other boats near me were of a "triple" one charter boat had shortly before I caught mine, a double from another boat, and a friend of mine out on his boat put 2 kings in the box in just a couple of hours of fishing.
Halibut is less than stellar in most of the bay area, but there are fish to be had if you hit the right spot. You just need to know where to find 'em!
